ICB Muslim School – Hifz Teacher Position

Established more than 20 years ago, the Islamic Center of Burlington (ICB) is one of the largest Islamic centers in New England.  The ICB Muslim School is focused on imparting Islamic education to students from Burlington and the surrounding towns.  Alhamdulillah, we have over 150 enrolled students and we strive to improve our School by introducing new programs for the community.

To support our existing Hifz Program which has, Alhamdulilah, been running successfully for the past 11 years, we are looking for a qualified and experienced Hifz Teacher.

Requirements:

• Haafiz of the Noble Quran – Memorized entire Noble Quran from a traditional Hifz School / Darul Uloom with Ijaza
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in leading a Hifz program and leading Taraweeh
• Well versed in the rules of Tajweed
• Able to communicate in the English and Urdu or Hindi languages

Preferences:

• Enthusiastic about teaching the Noble Quran
• Able to encourage children to learn in a positive manner
• A collaborative individual who is able to work with administrators, teachers and parents
• Possess basic computer skills such as knowing how to use Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as able to communicate via email

Responsibilities include:

• Fully manage and conduct the weekdays Hifz classes (Hours: Monday to Friday 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM)
• Fully manage and conduct the Sundays Quran classes (Hours: Sundays 10 – 2 PM)
• Each week lead 13 prayer services according to the following schedule:
  • One Jumu’ah prayer
  • Sunday from Asr prayer to Monday Isha prayer
  • Asr prayers from Tuesday to Friday
• Lead all prayers when the lead imam is away
• Lead Taraweeh prayers during the month of Ramadan

Adult Classes (Sundays 10:00am to 2:00pm)

• Quran – Reading with Tajweed
• Islamic Studies – Aqaaid, Akhlaaq & Aadaab, Hadeeth, Fiqh, and Islamic History

Hifz School (Monday to Friday 3:30pm to 7:30pm)

• Memorization of the entire Holy Quran for Students who can read Quran

Weekdays Evening School (Maktab) (Monday to Thursday 5:30pm – 7:30pm)

• Quran – Reading with Tajweed
• Islamic Studies – Aqaaid, Akhlaaq & Aadaab, Hadeeth, Fiqh, and Islamic History
• Classes for all age groups from Pre-K and above
